Yellow Jessamine

Yellow Jessamine, Gelsemium sempervirens

These trailing or climbing woody vines have slender, wiry stems and evergreen, lanceolate leaves. The fragrant flowers, 2-3 cm long, often occur in sufficient numbers to make the plants quite showy. Yellow Jessamine is common in thickets, clearings and hammocks throughout Florida and the coastal plain areas of the Southeast. (Florida Wildflowers and Roadside Plants, 1982)
